Benefits of taking AP Chinese
There are two major benefits to scoring high on the AP Chinese exam. First, students can have an additional AP exam score. Excellent scores can add points to a child's college application to American universities, and excellent academic performance is the first step to getting into a desired college. Second, a high score on the AP Chinese exam allows students to potentially earn credit or exemptions from other foreign languages during college.
The JCA AP Chinese System
The JCA program combines reading, writing, listening, and speaking training to enable students to fully develop their skills in interpersonal communication, interpretation, and presentation patterns. Students who complete the AP program at Journey Chinese Academy will be prepared for the AP exam and will also be able to communicate effectively in Chinese in school and in life, and will have the opportunity to work as JCA teaching assistants to help other students. Not only does the JCA program guide students through a holistic approach to preparing for the AP Chinese exam and developing a deeper understanding of Chinese language and culture, but it also focuses on developing good character and building students' leadership skills.

High standard quality courses

Journey Chinese Academy (JCA) curriculum is designed by a team of teachers with decades of experience teaching Chinese overseas, and is based on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) National Standards for 21st Century Foreign Language Learning, and is dedicated to developing lifelong Chinese learning habits and a growth mindset that will never waste a student's potential or qualifications. JCA Online Chinese Learning System is the most effective Chinese language program for overseas Chinese in grades 5-12. Children who grow up in a Chinese speaking environment can complete the program and pass the AP Chinese exam with high scores within 5 years.
Solid hierarchical structure
The JCA Chinese Curriculum is designed base on the most widely used textbook series in American high schools and colleges (Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing). The systematic curriculum covers 5 levels of Chinese 1, 2, 3, 4 (Pre-AP) and AP. Chinese (College Board approved); they are designed for students of all levels. Each level has 2 live, interactive classes of 50-60 minutes each, and there are 15 weeks in each semester. Plus free 1:1 individual tutoring with the TAs. Each class is in groups of up to 10 students to ensure effective learning progress and learning outcomes. Level scheduling consultations are available upon request.

All JCA Chinese courses have learning objectives, vivid learning illustrations and slideshows, classroom activities, multimedia online resources, homework assignments and assessments embedded or linked in the online learning management system courses. Online teaching and interactive lessons
Experienced, top-notch American certified Chinese teachers will teach live, interactive Chinese lessons. Each class will be 60 minutes long, with 2 classes a week totaling 120 minutes, and homework time is estimated to be about 1-2 hours per week. They will not only guide students through the content, but will also give feedback after the assessment. Students can always contact the teachers and teaching assistants online for assistance.
Self-paced learning assessment
The JCA Chinese program allows students to plan and schedule their own completion of assignments and assessments for each unit by the due date. The instructional design philosophy is designed to allow students to learn successfully and effectively with the flexibility of working online.
