Reading Club

  • I liked how the class connected everyone through the games we played at the beginning. The biggest thing I learned from this class is that I really enjoy reading and talking to other people about reading. – Izzy

  • What I liked most was how well all the students shared and commented on each other’s stories. It was very enjoyable to read other people’s writing and I wish more writing clubs/groups would do this more often. The biggest thing I learned from the class was how to manage my writing time to get motivated and tips on how to make my writing more detailed but not lengthy at the same time. – Olivia

Writing Workshop

  • I love reading other people’s writing and learning more about writing together. The biggest thing I learned was to simplify sentences and cut out unnecessary things, as many of my essays include unnecessary words and phrases. This workshop has made me more careful when rereading my own writing – Elisabeth
  • One of the things I love about the reading club and writing classes is the fun activities we do. The biggest thing I learned from the class in reading club was character building. In writing class, the biggest thing I learned was parallelism. – Claire
  • I really liked how approachable the teachers were and how they made the classes so interesting. The biggest thing I learned from these classes was how to embrace your writing, even though it may not be as good as you want it to be, and to think further/deeper about what the author is trying to say in the different books. – Jason

Other Classes

  • It gave me something fun to think and do, and it was great to see some of my friends. Probably the biggest thing I learned was how to find and distinguish different themes in a novel. – Mandi
  • I like these videos because they are a fun way to learn things. – Emma
  • It was fun to hear other people’s ideas and to share my own with the group. Another good thing I noticed was that the teachers always seemed to have a lot of energy and they tried their best to help me, which really motivated me to go to these classes. It was so much fun!🙂- Josie
